Hraun á Skaga is a small family farm at the tip of the Skagafjördur peninsula in Iceland, just below the Arctic Circle. They have lived with the land for more than a century, sustainably collecting eiderdown; yet the down was sold by retailers and profits were not funding the farm’s ethical practice.
Our team’s wish was to aid them in the launch of their own brand that allowed them to connect directly with conscious con-sumers around the world. Finding a close personal tie in their proximity to the land and sea, I abstracted natural elements through iterations of hand-drawn experi-mentation, informed by Icelandic and Japanese symbols and styles.
