Mika Tohmon is a graphic designer and media artist. Her designs and artworks mix haptic textures, cultural motifs, and new media (3D graphics, motion, and visual programming) to convey narratives intrinsic to each project’s place and time.  Her communities, interests, and methods are based in eco-feminism, speculative design, and celebration of (inter-)cultural heritage.

Born in Osaka, Japan, she graduated from UCLA Design Media Arts in 2015. In her 7-year career as a graphic designer, she first worked for Kenya Hara at Nippon Design Center, then founded NDCUS in Los Angeles with Daigo Daikoku. In 2024, she received an MA in Visual Communication at Royal College of Art. She participates periodically in SPILLLL, a small independent publishing collective of of immigrant, feminist, queer identity. She is seeking to expand her practice, working with companies and collaborators that share her clean yet experimental design sensibilities, emphasis on social and cultural sectors, and research-oriented methods.
