Isaribi is a self-published book in collaboration with an author friend, with a loose theme of loss and memory tying both of our experiences together with a fictional Japanese girl’s narrative.
Challenging the linearity of narrative by mixing visual and textual, Eastern and Western, physical and digital narratives, layouts, and experiences, the book attempts to touch a universal yet personal connection through grief and memory.
Isaribi is the light from fishing ships on the coastal horizons, ghastly yet guiding, beautiful yet deeply rooted in local daily life.
